The Impact of Acetic Acid Treatments on Stored Onion (Allium cepa L.) Seeds’ Quality

The aim of the studies was to evaluate effects acetic acid treatments on quality stored onion seeds. Seeds two samples were soaked for 30 min in 0.25, 0.5, 1 and 2% solutions. Controls included untreated seeds, seeds distilled water treated with fungicide Zaprawa Nasienna T 75 WS/DS (a.i. 75% thiram). Germination, vigour health evaluated before after 2, 6 12 months storage at 4 20 °C. Treating solutions, especially concentrations 2%, reduced their infestation Alternaria alternata, Botrytis cinerea, Cladosporium spp., Penicillium spp. Stemphylium botryosum both temperatures. °C showed lower fungi than did not have any adverse effect germination In some cases, increase first final counts improvement mean time observed.
